OVERWHELMING COMMUNITY RESPONSE MAKES
EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION DREAM HOME A REALITY

Myrtle Beach, SC  January 28, 2007

Thanks to the overwhelming response from people in local communities, Hall Custom Homes and Classic Home Building & Design have filled all time slots for volunteers who have offered their assistance during the homebuilding for the deserving Wilson family this week. The Myrtle Beach, SC-based building companies want to thank everyone who has offered their assistance.

The public, however, is welcome to come out (based on capacity) to support and cheer on the thousands of workers, subcontractors, trades and volunteers as they work with Ty Pennington and carpenters, and ABC-TV show’s design team, design team Paul, Preston, Paige and Tanya, to build the Wilson family a new home in just seven days.

“The community’s response has been absolutely remarkable,” said Hall Custom Homes Partner Harry Dill. “Since the announcement was made, thousands of people have asked how they can help. At this time, we have more volunteers then we need … that’s just awesome!”

The Wilson family received the “Good Morning!” wake up call on January 25, from ABC’s Ty Pennington, informing them that their home was selected to receive a makeover. To help with this project, Hall Custom Homes and Classic Home Building & Design are teaming up with their long-time subcontractors and trade professionals to complete the project. The team will work around-the-clock to present the Wilson family with a new fully furnished home on the anticipated reveal date of Thursday, February 1.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), will enter its 4th season on ABC. The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Denise Cramsey is the executive producer; and David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA.

WILSON HOME TO BE DEMOLISHED TODAY FOR
EXTREME MAKEOVER: HOME EDITION

Myrtle Beach, SC  January 27, 2007

On January 25, the Wilson family of Longs, SC, who have been living in their Grandmother’s beat up trailer were told that Ty and the gang will build them a new home of their own in a remarkable seven days on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Hakeem, Tim, RJ, and Erica Wilson live in the cramped corners of their grandmother’s trailer. Renee Wilson, who did not want to split the children up in the foster care system years ago, has been working as a school lunch lady to help support her grandchildren. Although this is the most stable home the Wilson children have ever lived in, it is still an undersized trailer that is being held together with duct tape, has a sagging roof, bad wiring, leaks, and little to no insulation.

In addition to receiving an extreme home makeover, the Wilsons left Thursday for a dream vacation at Walt Disney World, courtesy of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. While the family enjoys its time with each other, Hall Custom Homes and Classic Home Building & Design, and an army of volunteers will be working diligently to make their dream home a reality

MOVE-OUT DAY: WILSON FAMILY LOOKS FORWARD TO DREAM HOME
Myrtle Beach, SC  January 26, 2007

A stretch limousine took Renee Wilson and her four grandchildren away from their crumbling trailer in Longs, SC, for the last time yesterday.

Today, crews from the ABC-TV program Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Wilson family and friends are moving the family’s belongings into storage. The Wilsons will spend this week vacationing at Walt Disney World, courtesy of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. This rural Horry County household is the latest family to be featured on the program, which airs Sunday evenings at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

The dramatic weeklong transformation of the Wilson home began yesterday with an early morning greeting from team leader Ty Pennington. It ends February 1, with the spectacular reveal of the new home as the family returns for the first time.

Hall Custom Homes and Classic Home Building & Design, both of Myrtle Beach, SC, have accepted the challenge of completing this miraculous seven-day project. Hundreds of local tradespeople and dozens of area businesses will combine forces to keep construction work flowing smoothly around the clock for the next week.

As the move-out continues today, crews are preparing the site to handle the grueling pace of construction. Tomorrow opens the building phase when Pennington leads construction crews in an assault on the old house, beginning the demolition to make room for the new structure.
